The device (1) has a visual position indicator (5) connected to an opening and closing mechanism (4) of a valve (2). The indicator is driven by the mechanism between an occupied position to reveal an opening state of the valve when the valve is opened and another occupied position to reveal a closing state of the valve when the valve is closed. The indicator includes visualization marks (7) functionally related to the opening and closing mechanism. The marks are moved behind a circular occultation wall (8) that is fixed with respect to the mechanism. An independent claim is also included for a valve and indication device assembly.
