SINGLE RECOMBINATION SYSTEM AND METHODS OF USE

Disclosed is a modified poxvirus vector that allows for the generation of recombinant poxviruses by a single recombination event. A modified poxvirus vector comprising at least one reporter gene located between two flanking sequences for homologous recombination and a selection gene whose expression is regulated by the tetracycline operator/repressor system. Furthermore, a host cell comprising said vector and a method for the generation of recombinant poxviruses using said vector are provided.
