<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a wireless communication device which operates as a base station in a wireless communication environment in which cells of different sizes are hierarchized, and suitably suppresses inter-cell interference at the time of downlink to a terminal in a range expansion area. <P>SOLUTION: The portions where a macro eNodeB and a pico eNodeB respectively use a PDCCH are separated by search spaces, which can circumvent complete loss of information in the PDCCH due to interference.
