<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lamp lighting device capable of attaining miniaturization and improving its heat radiation. <P>SOLUTION: The lamp lighting device 1 includes a case 2, a holding member 4 holding a lamp 3 and assembled so as to make at least a part of the holding member enter into the case 2 from an outer wall of the case 2, and a module 10 stored in the case 2, wherein a circuit board 12 for mounting electronic components 13 and a mold resin 14 for covering the circuit board 12 are integrated with each other. The module 10 is formed in a plate shape wherein a designated direction is to be its thickness direction, and a notch 11 is partially formed on a sidewall section 10a at a side opposite to the holding member 4.
