<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform restoration from an energy-saved state without spending time for initialization processing by eliminating unnecessary initialization processing. <P>SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus has a device power-off state in which the image forming apparatus is powered off and an energy-saved state in which part of the image forming apparatus is powered off, and includes a plurality of independent CPUs of a first CPU and a second CPU. In the device power-off state, the first and second CPUs are powered off, and in the energy-saved state, the second CPU is powered off while maintaining the power-on of the first CPU. The apparatus includes a power-off information holding means which causes the second CPU to hold the power-saved state or the device power-off state in a first memory before powering off the second CPU, and an initialization processing means which causes the second CPU to perform initialization processing when the second CPU is powered on. The initialization processing means causes the second CPU to perform, in reference to the first memory, first initialization processing that is predetermined initialization processing or second initialization processing in which a predetermined procedure is eliminated from the first initialization processing. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
