<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To allow a vehicle height to be adjusted during moving and a stop of the vehicle, in the refinement of a damper with a vehicle height adjusting function by which an axial length of the damper body can be adjusted. <P>SOLUTION: The damper with the vehicle height adjusting function includes a damper body and a vehicle height adjusting mechanism. The damper body includes: a cylinder 1; a ring-shaped head member 2 for sealing one end of the cylinder 1; a piston rod 3 pivotally supported on the inner circumference of the head member 2 and movably inserted into the cylinder 1 in an axial direction; and a piston 4 held by the piston rod 3 and partitioning the inside of the cylinder 1 into two pressure chambers L1, L2. The vehicle height adjusting mechanism adjusts the length of the damper body in the axial direction and has a partition wall member 5 defining a jack chamber R in one of the pressure chambers L1 and stretchable in the axial direction; and a pump P for supplying and discharging a working fluid to/from the jack chamber R. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
