MEANS FOR CONFIRMING INDIVIDUAL'S RISK PROFILE RELATED TO ATHEROMA ARTERIOSCLEROSIS DISEASE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new usage of a diagnostic test for determining a risk of an atheroma arteriosclerosis disease such as cardiac infarction and paroxysm (stroke) particularly among individuals not associated with an indication of disease or symptom at present and among nonsmokers and further to provide the new usage of the diagnostic test for assisting a doctor to determine which individual obtains priority to benefit from several therapies designed for preventing initial or relapsing myocardial infarction and paroxysm or for treating acute and chronic cardiovascular disturbances.

SOLUTION: The invention relates to a method characterizing an individual's risk profile of developing a future cardiovascular disorder by obtaining a level of the marker of systemic inflammation in the individual, and further, the invention relates to a method for evaluating the likelihood that an individual will benefit from treatment with an agent for reducing the risk of future cardiovascular disorder.
