<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a metal-air battery restricted planarly and capable of minimizing deterioration of battery characteristics, and to provide a manufacturing method therefor. <P>SOLUTION: A positive electrode 2, a negative electrode 3, an electrolyte layer 4, an oxygen diffusion layer 5 laminated on the positive electrode, a laminate film 6 for housing the positive electrode, the negative electrode, a separator and an oxygen diffusion layer, an oxygen hole installation substrate 8 provided with multiple oxygen holes 7 for taking oxygen into the positive electrode, and a seal substrate 9 arranged so as to block intake of oxygen from the oxygen holes when a battery is not used and to open the oxygen holes when the battery is used, are laminated in the metal-air battery 1. The battery is restricted planarly by a restriction device 13 provided on the outside of the laminate film. The restriction device includes a restriction plate 11 and a restriction jig 12, and the oxygen holes are opened in the restricted state.
