AGENT FOR IMPARTING IMPACT RESISTANCE TO POLYLACTIC ACID RESIN

Provided is an agent for imparting impact resistance to a polylactic acid resin comprising a fatty acid component and a polyglycerin fatty acid ester component. The fatty acid component comprises at least 80 mass% of constituent fatty acids including at least one member selected from a group consisting of caprylic acid, capric acid, lauric acid, myristic acid, palmitic acid, stearic acid, and oleic acid. The polyglycerin fatty acid ester component is composed of polyglycerins having an average degree of polymerization of 2 to 40. A polylactic acid resin composition that contains this agent for imparting impact resistance to polylactic acid resin has excellent impact resistance properties, and therefore can be most suitably used in, for example, agricultural materials, in food packaging materials, and in other types of packaging materials.
