<p>A base station and control method thereof for a wireless communication network is provided. The base station comprises: a transceiver unit which performs data transmission and reception with communication nodes and terminals; a position information storage unit which stores the position information of the terminals in the wireless communication network; a range expansion status information storage unit which stores the range expansion status information of each communication node corresponding to each terminal; and a control unit which determines a service strategy for the terminal at least based on the position information of the terminal in the wireless communication network and the range expansion status information of each communication node corresponding to each terminal. The invention can fully play the advantage of the enhanced Inter-Cell Interference Coordination (eICIC) and Coordinated Multipoint (CoMP), realize the combination or conversion of the two for the actual channel status of different terminals, and thereby realize the optimal design of the overall network.</p>
