<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a nonaqueous magnesium battery capable of maintaining high discharge voltage, the nonaqueous magnesium battery including an ion conductive medium containing a halogen. <P>SOLUTION: In a nonaqueous magnesium battery 10, a negative electrode 14 comprising magnesium metal and a positive electrode 16 are arranged to face each other via an ion conductive medium 18. The positive electrode 16 is prepared by mixing a conductive material 16b and a binder 16c and then press molding to a collector 16a such as a platinum mesh. The ion conductive medium 18 includes a magnesium salt such as magnesium perchlorate, a halogen and a nonaqueous solvent.
