<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical transmission system capable of transmitting and receiving light signals in parallel by using a plurality of lanes, and having reduced power consumption. <P>SOLUTION: An optical transmission system includes a master transmission device (22M). The master transmission device (22M) has: a target lane number calculation section (62) for calculating a target lane number on the basis of a necessary traffic amount measured by a traffic amount measurement section of the master transmission device (22M) and a necessary traffic amount notified by a slave transmission device (22S); a control frame generation section (64) for generating a control frame for notifying the slave transmission device (22S) of the target lane number calculated by the target lane number calculation section (62); and an optical transceiver control section (68) for individually starting or stopping long distance optical transceivers (36) of the master transmission device (22M) on the basis of the target lane number calculated by the target lane number calculation section (62). <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
