ROAD LIGHTING SYSTEM WITH CHARGING STATIONS FOR ELECTRIC VEHICLES

In a road lighting system with a plurality of light poles (2a, 2b, 2c...) which are arranged along a road and a lighting cable (5) which is laid underground from one light pole to another and to which the lights (3a, 3b, 3c...) of the light poles (2a, 2b, 2c...) are connected, at least some of the light poles (2a, 2b, 2c...) are embodied as charging stations (15a, 15b, 15c...) for electric vehicles (8). A voltage which is raised compared to the mains voltage is applied to the lighting cable (5) which is laid underground. The charging station (15a, 15b, 15c...) has a voltage transformer (13) which lowers the raised voltage to the mains voltage.
