<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a dilatometer capable of accurately measuring a temperature-dependent change in length. <P>SOLUTION: A dilatometer for measuring a metallic sample includes: sample holders 4 and 14 for fixing the sample 3; at least one induction coil 5 arranged around the sample 3 for heating the sample 3; and at least one sensor for measuring a temperature of the sample 3. The dilatometer for measuring a metallic sample further comprises optical measurement devices 6 and 9 for detecting change in the length of the metallic sample 3.
