<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rubber composition for tires, capable of improving its thermal fatigue resistance, breaking strength and flexibility (steering stability) in good balance, and to provide a pneumatic tire using the same. <P>SOLUTION: The rubber composition for tires includes a compound represented by formula (I) (A is a 1-15C hydrocarbon group; R<SP POS="POST">1</SP>and R<SP POS="POST">2</SP>are each the same as or different from each other, being an alkyl-substituted amino, aralkyl-substituted amino or cyclic amino; n is an integer of 1-12; and x<SP POS="POST">1</SP>and x<SP POS="POST">2</SP>are each the same as or different from each other, being an integer of 1-12), a thiuram-based vulcanization promoter, and substantially no sulfur as vulcanizing agent.
