This endoscope system (100) is provided with: a first light-receiving unit (28A) and a second light-receiving unit (28B); a tuning unit (81) for setting a pixel to be read out in the first light-receiving unit (28A) and the second light-receiving unit (28B) so that pixel information is read out in alternation from the first light-receiving unit (28A) and the second light-receiving unit (28B), and for controlling in a correlated fashion the timing for exposure processing in the first light-receiving unit (28A) and the second light-receiving unit (28B) as well as the timing for pixel information reading processing for the first light-receiving unit (28A) and the second light-receiving unit (28B); and a cable assembly (31) for transmitting over the same transmission pathway the pixel information that has been read out from the first light-receiving unit (28A) and the second light-receiving unit (28B). |
