摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide: a positive electrode active material for a lithium ion secondary battery with excellent cycle characteristics; a lithium ion secondary battery including the positive electrode active material, and a method for producing a lithium manganese silver complex oxide. <P>SOLUTION: The positive electrode active material for a lithium ion secondary battery includes a lithium manganese silver complex oxide comprising a lithium manganese complex oxide represented by compositional formula: xLi<SB POS="POST">2</SB>MnO<SB POS="POST">3</SB>(1-x)LiMeO<SB POS="POST">2</SB>(in the formula, 0<x&le;1 is satisfied, and Me represents one metal selected from among Nb, Al, Fe, F, Mg, Co, Ti, Ni and trivalent Mn), a part of at least one metal among Li, tetravalent Mn and Me of the lithium manganese complex oxide being substituted with Ag.
