PARALLEL-SERIAL CONVERSION DEVICE AND PARALLEL-SERIAL CONVERSION METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a parallel-serial conversion device which allows solving the problem of the acceleration of signals and high-speed signal modulation due to serialization causing deterioration of a signal waveform resulting in limitation of a transmission band, and to provide a parallel-serial conversion method.

SOLUTION: A parallel-serial conversion device includes: a plurality of first optical modulators that modulate a plurality of first optical signals having a first transmission rate to a plurality of second optical signals; a delay section to cause a time difference between the plurality of second optical signals; and a multiplexer that outputs third optical signals by combining the plurality of second optical signals having the time difference. The plurality of first optical modulators modulate the plurality of first optical signals by a constant-period signal having a second transmission rate faster than the first transmission rate.
