<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pharmaceutical composition for inhibiting hyperplasia of goblet cells, which is effective for prophylaxis or treatment of bronchitis, COPD, bronchiectasis, bronchial asthma, pulmonary tuberculosis, pneumoconiosis, emphysema, or diffuse panbronchiolitis. <P>SOLUTION: This pharmaceutical composition for inhibiting hyperplasia of goblet cells includes fudosteine, being (-)-(R)-2-amino-3-(3-hydroxypropylthio)propionic acid, and bromhexine hydrochloride of an expectorant. The expectorant does not have goblet cell hyperplasia inhibiting action as the single agent. But through combined use of the expectorant and fudosteine, the goblet cell hyperplasia inhibiting action of fudosteine is synergistically enhanced. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
