<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device and method for cutting of a workpiece, capable of inhibiting wear of a cutting edge of a cutting blade and a cutting edge receiving surface, and also capable of cutting a workpiece reliably. <P>SOLUTION: The workpiece cutting device 10A includes a workpiece support 18 supporting the workpiece W, the cutting blade 20 cutting the workpiece W, and a vibrating mechanism 14 directly vibrating the workpiece W without the aid of the cutting blade 20 and the workpiece support 18. The workpiece W is loaded on the cutting edge receiving surface 18a of the workpiece support 18, and the cutting edge 20a of the cutting blade 20 cuts into the workpiece W. With the cutting edge 20a being partly brought into contact with the cutting edge receiving surface 18a, the workpiece W is vibrated by the vibrating mechanism 14. Thus, a remaining part R of the workpiece W located between the cutting edge 20a and the cutting edge receiving surface 18a can be brought into abutment with the cutting edge 20a, allowing the workpiece W to be completely cut. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
