<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve fuel consumption by means of idle stop, and to allow a vehicle in idle stop to quickly start. <P>SOLUTION: The idle stop control device includes a means for detecting a state of a preceding vehicle located forward of a vehicle on the basis of an image captured by an imaging means, and a means for detecting the color of a traffic light located forward of the vehicle. When the preceding vehicle detection means detects a preceding stopping vehicle during automatic engine stop, and the means detects that a stop lamp of the preceding vehicle is turned off, a control means restarts the engine. When preceding vehicle detection means does not detects any preceding stopping vehicles, and the traffic light color detection means detects that a traffic light is green, the control means restarts the engine. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
