<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable multiple view video coding which specifies coding order not only for time reference pictures but also for reference pictures associated with different views. <P>SOLUTION: A picture reference list ordering process is defined for a multiview coder for coding moving pictures, where a picture list has coding order of reference pictures used to code a picture specified in relation to whether a picture to be coded is associated with a view (715).
