PATTERN RETARDATION FILM, METAL MOLD FOR MANUFACTURING PATTERN RETARDATION FILM, AND IMAGE DISPLAY DEVICE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pattern retardation film which is applied to three-dimensional image display by a passive system and can be manufactured in quantities more easily with high precision, an image display device which uses the pattern phase retardation film, and a metal mold for manufacturing the pattern retardation film using the pattern retardation film.

SOLUTION: A first area (A) in which a fine linear uneven shape is formed substantially in a constant direction and a second area (B) in which a fine linear uneven shape is formed in a direction different therefrom are formed on an alignment film alternately and zonally, and an area (C) in which no linear uneven shape is formed in the fixed direction is provided at the boundary between the first and second areas (A) and (B) to provide a buffer area (C) for the first and second areas (A) and (B) at the border between the first and second areas (A) and (B) by the area (C).
