<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a copolymer having transparency in use as an optical material, having adjustable refractive index, and being good in heat resistance and birefringence. <P>SOLUTION: The copolymer is composed of a repeating unit represented by formula (1) and a repeating unit represented by formula (2), and the total of the repeating unit represented by formula (1) and the repeating unit represented by formula (2) is ≥5 and ≤10,000. In the formulae, R is a divalent group selected from the group consisting of a substituted or non-substituted 1-20C divalent straight-chain aliphatic group, a substituted or non-substituted 3-20C divalent branched aliphatic group, a substituted or non-substituted 6-10C divalent aromatic group and a substituted or non-substituted 5-50C divalent alicyclic group, or a divalent group made by bonding two or more divalent groups selected from the above groups, and containing an adamantane structure; Ar is a divalent group selected from the group consisting of a substituted or non-substituted 1-20C divalent straight-chain aliphatic group, a substituted or non-substituted 3-20C divalent branched aliphatic group, a substituted or non-substituted 6-10C divalent aromatic group and a substituted or non-substituted 5-50C divalent alicyclic group, or a divalent group made by bonding two or more divalent groups selected from the above groups, and containing no adamantane structure. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
