<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrical connector assembly which effectively controls EMI and is capable of being manufactured with relatively low cost. <P>SOLUTION: An electrical connector assembly comprises a cage (36) that has a front end (38) opening to an internal compartment (42). The internal compartment is configured to receive a pluggable module (12) therein through the front end of the cage. An EMI gasket (46) is mounted to the front end of the cage such that the EMI gasket is engaged with and electrically connected to the cage. The EMI gasket includes electrically conductive springs (112) that are configured to engage and electrically connect to the module when the module is received within the internal compartment. A bracket (48) is mounted to the front end of the cage such that the bracket extends at least partially around the EMI gasket.
