<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a stent and the like coated with a hydrophobic analog of a therapeutically active agent and to provide a method of use thereof. <P>SOLUTION: There is provided a medical device including the hydrophobic analog of a medicament known to inhibit cell proliferation and migration. Examples of suitable medicaments include, for example, geldanamycin antibiotics, colchicines, combrestatins, camptothecins, taxanes, and rapamycin, and analogs thereof.
