<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide Mg<SB POS="POST">2</SB>Si fine particles having high crystallinity, minuteness and a low impurity content, and a method for producing the same. <P>SOLUTION: The Mg<SB POS="POST">2</SB>Si fine particles have a specific surface area of ≥30 m<SP POS="POST">2</SP>/g, wherein the ratio (=I<SB POS="POST">Si</SB>×100/I<SB POS="POST">Mg2Si</SB>) of the XRD maximum peak intensity (I<SB POS="POST">Si</SB>) of Si to the XRD maximum peak intensity (I<SB POS="POST">Mg2Si</SB>) of Mg<SB POS="POST">2</SB>Si is ≤5.0%. Such Mg<SB POS="POST">2</SB>Si fine particles are obtained as follows: an Na-Si-based compound, an Mg halide and, optionally, Na are blended so as to achieve an Mg/Si ratio (molar ratio) of ≤2 and an Na/Si ratio (molar ratio) of 1-9, this blend is heated at a temperature of 0.7T<SB POS="POST">min</SB>to lower than T<SB POS="POST">min</SB>(where T<SB POS="POST">min</SB>is the minimum temperature among the melting point, eutectic point and decomposition temperature of the Na-Si-based compound), and the resulting reaction product is washed with a solvent to remove unreacted raw materials and by-products. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
