<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To eliminate transmission of duplicate retransmission requests to ensure efficient reception in a network receiver incorporating a plurality of retransmission request mechanisms for missing packets. <P>SOLUTION: When a retransmission request is transmitted by a given retransmission request mechanism upon detection of a missing packet, the packet concerned is not transferred to other retransmission request mechanisms until after a response to the transmitted retransmission request is received and the missing packet is replenished. This ensures that detection of the missing packet by the other retransmission request mechanisms is avoided and, hence, transmission of duplicate retransmission requests is avoided. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
