<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a switchover control device and a communication apparatus, capable of switching to any one handset by detecting a current flowing by the connection to the handset. <P>SOLUTION: The switchover control device and the communication apparatus include: a plurality of connection means capable of connecting to a plurality of types of handsets; and current monitoring means for detecting a current flowing in the connection means by the connection to the handset.
