[Problem] To provide a temperature distribution measurement device and temperature distribution measurement method capable of readily configuring an appropriate transfer function in accordance with variation in the total length of an optical fiber. [Solution] A temperature distribution measurement device (20) comprises a laser light source (21) optically connected to an optical fiber (24), a photodetector (26) for detecting backscattered light inside the optical fiber (24), and a temperature distribution measurement unit (27) for making a corrective calculation using a transfer function for a provisional measured temperature distribution obtained from the output of the photodetector (26) to arrive at a true measured temperature distribution. The temperature distribution measurement unit (27) stores the transfer function data configured for each total length of the optical fiber (24) and each position in the lengthwise direction. The temperature distribution measurement unit (27) uses transfer function data to modify the transfer function employed in the corrective calculation when the length of the optical fiber (24) is modified.
