<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a molding die which can sufficiently suppress deformation of a cell near its outer peripheral skin when a honeycomb structure having a cell structure of square arrangement is molded, and to provide a method for producing the honeycomb structure by using the molding die. <P>SOLUTION: This die 20 is used for extrusion molding of a honeycomb structure 70 which has a cell structure 70b in which a large number of through holes 70c are arranged substantially in parallel and the plurality of through holes 70c are arranged in square shapes when viewed from an end face, and has a side face covered by an outer peripheral skin 70a. A spacer 24 attached to the die 20 comprises an opening reduction unit 24b to reduce the inner diameter of the spacer to thereby reduce the volume of a raw material composition forming the cell structure 70b around the outer peripheral skin 70a. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
