<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a fuel cell electrode catalyst which is capable of being a substitute for a precious metal catalyst, large in specific surface area and high in catalyst performance. <P>SOLUTION: A method for producing a fuel cell electrode catalyst includes: a step (II) of performing a heat treatment to a catalyst precursor material including an atom of a metal element M1 selected from the group consisting of titanium, niobium, zirconium, tantalum, aluminum, chrome, manganese, iron, cobalt, nickel, copper, zinc, germanium, yttrium, indium, tin, tungsten and cerium, an atom of a metal element M3 selected from the group consisting of alkaline metal and alkaline earth metal, a carbon atom, a nitrogen atom and an oxygen atom; and a step (III) of removing the atom of the metal element M3 from a thermally treated product obtained in the step (II) to obtain an electrode catalyst. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
