<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To detect a fault in an inverter or a coil assembly by using only a detected phase current value in a control device which controls drive of a three-phase rotary machine having two coil assemblies. <P>SOLUTION: A first circuit inverter 601 and a second circuit inverter 602 respectively supply alternating currents having the same amplitude but differing in phase by 30° each other to two coil assemblies 801, 802 constituting a three-phase motor 80. Current detectors 701, 702 detect phase currents being conducted from the inverters 601, 602 to the coil assemblies 801, 802. Fault determination means 751 and 752 each calculate an estimated phase current value in the own circuit on the basis of a detected three-phase current value in the other circuit, and compare it with the detected current value. This enables an ECU 101 to detect a fault in the inverters 601, 602 or the coil assemblies 801, 802 by using only a detected phase current value being information from the current detectors 701, 702. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
