[Classes 20(iv) and 87(i)] [Also in Group XI] A floor, ceiling roof or wall is formed of units each comprising a flat-backed rectangular channel of metal or other sheet whose downwardly or inwardly extending flanges each have an inturned lip upon which rest the flanges of a second similarly-facing channel sprung into the first with its flat back spaced therefrom. In the roof or floor shown in Fig. 1 lips 3 on the flanges 2 of sheet steel channel members 1 support aluminium, copper, plastic &c. light reflecting channel members 4 and glass sheets 8, tubular fluorescent &c. lamps 7 being interposed ; glass wool and/ or wiring conduits 'may be located between the members 1 and 4; adjacent units may be welded, bolted &c. together or a sheet metal jointing strip may engage adjacent lips 3. In Fig. 4 recesses 10 formed in the .members accommodate nuts 13 of hook bolts 11 passed between adjacent units and engaging purlins 12 ; between these bolts the recesses 10 are filled as at 15 and bituminized felt 16 is applied; the jointing strips 6 may be sprung over the sloping edges of the lips 3.
