<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain highly accurate curvature by suppressing errors by noise in recognizing an object in an image by using curvature of a contour as a feature quantity. <P>SOLUTION: A contour is detected from image data, and from the contour, a plurality of divided contours are extracted. Then, a curvature central angle and length of the divided contour are calculated for each divided contour. The curvature central angle is obtained as an angle formed by tangential lines passing both end points of the divided contour crossing. The calculated curvature central angle and length of the divided contour are used to calculate curvature as a reverse number of a curvature radius. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
