1339198 Purifying and disinfecting water K H HILDEBRAND [trading as KARL HEINZ HILDEBRAND CO] 26 July 1971 [12 Aug 1970] 34993/71 Heading C1C In an apparatus for purifying and disinfecting waste water, the waste water from inlet 2 is recycled through container 1 and disintegrator 5 by pump 4, passed through line 14 to mixer 15 where it is mixed with a chemical (e.g. lime) from dosage unit 18a, passed to filter 25 and then passed through line 30 where it is mixed with chlorine from unit 36, to mixer 31, sludge being removed through drain 24. The sludge is aerated and, if desired, mixed with chlorine in container 39, dewatered in thickener 47 and filled into bags 49. The sludge may be burned. Solids may be removed through drain 6. Outlet 9 in the reservoir 8 may be automatically controlled. Waste water may be treated with iron chloride and cellulose derivative from dosage units 18b and 18c respectively before and after treatment in the mixer 15. The filter may comprise gravel, coal, activated charcoal or dolomite. The filter may be back-washed. Water may be recycled from thickener 47 to reservoir 8. The waste water may enter the mixer and filter housing tangentially. |
