The device (1) has a detent element (8) including a pawl-like form closure element (9), which engages in one of form closure elements (5) of a parking lock wheel (4) in form-fit manner, and blocks the wheel in a locking condition. The pawl-like form closure element of the detent element is disengaged relative to the wheel in an unlocking condition. The device is designed as a separate unit, which is accommodated in an own housing (2). The wheel is coupled with a torque transferring element of an electrical drive. The detent element is pivoted around a pivot axis (10).
