摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a catalyst indicating a high methacrolein invert ratio and a high methacrylic acid yield. <P>SOLUTION: A method for producing the catalyst for producing methacrylic acid includes a process in which a catalyst raw material containing a molybdenum raw material, vanadium raw material, and a phosphorus raw material is mixed with water, a process for producing catalyst powder containing catalyst components by a step in which an organic substance is mixed with the obtained solution or slurry and the mixture is dried, the organic substance is mixed therewith after the solution or the slurry is dried, or after the organic substance is added to the solution or the slurry and the resulting material is dried, the material containing the organic substance is agitated, a process in which the catalyst powder is kneaded with water or alcohol to produce a kneaded body, a process in which the kneaded body is extruded to produce a molding, a process in which the molding is dried to produce a catalyst precursor, and a process in which the catalyst precursor is heat-treated. The catalyst precursor is subjected to DSC measurement, and the catalyst does not have an exothermic peak in a range of 130-200&deg;C, or has the exothermic peak, and has a calorific value calculated from the exothermic peak area of 20 mJ/mg or below. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT
