<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an earth detector capable of efficiently performing earth detection at low power dissipation. <P>SOLUTION: A positive side terminal 12 and negative side terminal 13 of a charging unit 11 are grounded by alternately turning on switches 31 and 32. Under these circumstances, earth detection is performed by detecting a current flowing between the charging unit 11 and ground. A charging switch 21 is provided between a power block PB1 outputting power and the charging unit 11. A discharge switch 22 is provided between a power block PB2 receiving power and the charging unit 11. A earth detection controller 40 sets a plurality of target periods discretely arranged on a time sequence (for example, sets one target period per day) to make an earth detection circuit 30 perform earth detection in each target period. In this case, the earth detection circuit 30 is controlled such that earth detection is performed during the period when at least either the switch 21 or 22 is turned on in each target period. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
