PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image processing method that enables execution of image restoration processing with high accuracy while reducing an information amount required for the image restoration processing.

SOLUTION: An image processing method for performing image restoration processing of a photographed image includes: a step for generating a plurality of first optical transfer functions of an image pickup optical system corresponding to positions in the photographed image using coefficient data corresponding to a photographing condition of the photographed image; a step for generating a plurality of second optical transfer functions by rotating the first optical transfer functions around the center of the photographed image or an optical axis of the image pickup optical system; a step for generating an image restoration filter on the basis of the first optical transfer functions and the second optical transfer functions; and a step for performing image restoration processing of the photographed image using the image restoration filter.
