<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce power consumption resulting from the operation of an error correction circuit. <P>SOLUTION: A plug-in card housing apparatus comprises: a plug-in card including a memory which stores input data received, and an error correction circuit provided so as to be electrically connectable to the memory, which corrects an error of the input data outputted from the memory; an apparatus body on which the plug-in card is mounted; and a processor which, based on an error rate of the memory included in the plug-in card mounted on the apparatus body, calculates a reliability index value of the plug-in card, and determines whether to electrically connect the error correction circuit to the memory so that the calculated reliability index value approaches a reference value. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
