In the present invention, a virtual image display device is provided with an image forming element that forms an image to be displayed, and an optical element that displays a virtual image by reflecting light output from the image forming element. The optical element has a concave shape facing in the advancement direction of the light output from the image forming element. Also, the light output from the image forming element is incident on the optical element without being reflected by another optical element. The image forming element is disposed in a direction that is substantially orthogonal to the direction in which the virtual image is visually recognized by way of the optical element. |
