The present invention addresses the provision of a copolymer, specifically a block copolymer, that has superior film-forming properties and adhesion to base materials, and that does not adsorb proteins. The present invention further addresses the provision of: an antithrombotic coating agent that exhibits excellent antithrombotic properties and adhesion to base materials when compared with conventional antithrombotic coating materials; and a medial instrument obtained by being coated with said antithrombotic coating agent. The abovementioned issues are resolved by the provision of a block copolymer that comprises a polymer (A) of (meth) acrylic acid ester monomer (a) and a polymer (B) of a (meth) acrylamide monomer, and that exhibits excellent film-forming properties and has excellent adhesion to base materials.
