<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an automatic warehouse, in which picking can be done and there is no constraint of, e.g., delivery in a lump. <P>SOLUTION: The automatic warehouse includes: a carrier of which a plurality of articles are freely taken in/out from a front; a rack on which the plurality of carriers are freely placed; a station for stock and delivery; and a transfer device in which both any article in the carrier and any carrier freely transfer.
