<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and a system for conditionally assigning resources assigned to other access terminals to an access terminal. <P>SOLUTION: A plurality of resources having persistent assignment to other access terminals is processed to determine a gap in transmission (which is also called as interruption of transmission). The resources that can be conditionally used by the access terminals are determined and a signal indicating such conditionally assigned resources is transmitted.
