<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an air conditioner which enables a body and a remote controller to communicate with each other only by picking up the remote controller. <P>SOLUTION: The air conditioner includes the body, a control section which is provided in the body to control operation of the air conditioner, and the remote controller which detects that the remote controller is picked up by a user and communicates with the control section when detecting it.
