<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To inhibit a heating medium from mixing with a cooling medium in a power generation apparatus which uses pyroelectric effect. <P>SOLUTION: A power generation apparatus includes: a heating part 111a heating a pyroelectric material 13 with a heating medium; a cooling part 112a cooling the pyroelectric material 13 with a cooling medium; and thermal resistance change means 14 changing at least one of thermal resistance between the heating medium and the pyroelectric material 13 and thermal resistance between the cooling medium and the pyroelectric material 13.
