The invention relates to a trap to prevent the release of unpleasant odors from plumbing pipes to the outside, from a fixture that discharges waste liquids, that includes: i) a flow pipe, the outer surface of which is threaded (1), and the upper edge of which has a projection (2) that projects toward the outside, either horizontally or on a slant; ii) a valve (3) horizontally located on the inner lower end of the flow pipe; iii) a fastener (4) that holds the valve (3) in the flow pipe; iv) a counterweight (5) located on one of the halves of the valve (3); v) a semicircular projection (6) located on the inner lower end of the flow pipe, toward the side with the half of the valve (3) with the counterweight (5) in order to prevent this half from descending owing to the counterweight on the same (5); and vi) a slanted surface (7), which starts from the upper edge of the flow pipe, wherein the half with the counterweight (5) of the valve (3) is located, said slanted surface (7) projecting downward and toward the center of the flow pipe.
