<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To recover from an ejection failure, even when a leaving time period during which a power source is turned off is long. <P>SOLUTION: The printer includes: a cap unit; a humidified air supply mechanism which supplies generated humidified air to an ejection space; a pump which performs a purging operation to discharge the ink from ejection ports; a maintenance control unit for controlling these; and a time counting unit which counts the leaving time period. The maintenance control unit is configured to, only when this leaving time period counted by the time counting unit exceeds a predetermined time, control the humidified air supply mechanism to perform the humidifying maintenance in the capping state before the purging operation. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
