<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing glyceric acid and/or tartronic acid with a high conversion rate in a liquid phase oxidation reaction of glycerol by using an ion exchange resin as a support of the catalyst. <P>SOLUTION: There is provided the method for producing tartronic acid and/or glyceric acid via a liquid phase oxidation reaction of glycerol by using oxygen as an oxidizing agent in the presence of a catalyst.
